Masterclass Ole Kristian Dahl
29–31 October 2026, Prague
A three-day masterclass with one of today's most prominent bassoon pedagogues, Ole Kristian Dahl, professor of bassoon at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim (Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim) and acting principal bassoonist of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
The masterclass is primarily intended for students of conservatories, music high schools, and music academies, as well as young professional players and teachers. In addition to individual lessons, it will offer three days of intensive work including reed-making, ensemble playing, the opportunity to observe the lessons of other participants, a lecture on drills, and two concert evenings.
The capacity is only 10 active and 10 passive participants.
Priority registration is given to HAMU students, followed by members of the Czech Double Reed Society.

Thursday, October 29 | HAMU
Hlavní den individuální výuky s Ole Kristianem Dahlem.
Každý aktivní účastník absolvuje jednu individuální lekci v délce 45 minut. Po celý den je zároveň možné sledovat lekce ostatních účastníků v rámci pasivní účasti.
Friday, October 30 | HAMU
The second day will be dedicated to practical work. The program will include a bassoon reed-making workshop with Louisa Slosar and ensemble playing under the guidance of Ole Kristian Dahl.
In the evening, participants can look forward to a concert by Ole Kristian Dahl & Guests at the HAMU Gallery.
Saturday, October 31 | Rudolfinum
The Masterclass continues as part of the Czech Double Reed Symposium. Ole Kristian Dahl will lead a lecture here titled "Drills," focused on systematic work with technique and everyday practice.
At the same time, participants can take part in the Symposium program and ensemble playing. In the evening, the masterclass will conclude with a Gala Concert of Double Reeds in the Suk Hall of the Rudolfinum.
Active participation
An active participant receives the complete three-day program.
Included in the price is:

Passive participation
Passive participation is intended for bassoonists, students, and teachers who want to observe Ole Kristian Dahl's work with active participants and attend other parts of the three-day program without having their own individual lesson.
Passive participation in the masterclass, the Friday program, Saturday's Symposium, and admission to both concerts are included in the price.

We will send the schedule and organizational information to registered participants, and the exact time of their individual lesson to active participants as well.
Ole Kristian Dahl
Ole Kristian Dahl is among internationally recognized bassoonists and pedagogues. He serves as Professor of Bassoon at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim and as Acting Principal Bassoon in the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
He is arriving in Prague at the invitation of the Czech Double Reed Society. Over the course of three days, he will offer participants not only individual work, but also the opportunity to learn about his approach to technique, practicing, ensemble playing, and long-term player development.
Luisa Slosar
V současnosti působí na Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim. Vedle interpretační činnosti se intenzivně věnuje výrobě fagotových strojků a její výuce a vede reed-making workshopy na mezinárodních fagotových kurzech. Je rovněž editorkou metodické publikace Ole Kristiana Dahla .drills. 1.0.
V Praze povede v rámci masterclassu Ole Kristiana Dahla a Setkání učitelů ZUŠ praktický seminář výroby fagotových strojků.
